Foreclosure Prevention Workshop

Focus: HOPE will host a free workshop to help homeowners who are behind in the mortgage payments and are facing foreclosure.  Certified foreclosure prevention counselors from Wayne County Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention Program will conduct the workshop at the Focus: HOPE Resource Center, 1355 Oakman Boulevard, Detroit, on the following day:
 
•    Thursday, March 11, from 5 to 7 p.m.

 
Those who should participate include homeowners who are currently behind in their mortgage payments, those who will be late within the next 30 days, and those that have already been contacted by an attorney.  Workshop participants will have the opportunity to complete an intake package and be assigned to a counselor who will work with homeowner and his/her lender.
 
Participants should bring:
•    Valid driver’s license or state ID,
•    Social security cards for all household members
•    Proof of income, including 30 days of recent pay stubs,                       retirement, child support, etc.
•    Bank statements from the last three months
•    Federal tax returns and W-2s from the last two years
•    Mortgage statements and/or all recent correspondence
•    Property tax bill or State Equalized Value (SEV)
•    Commitment, referral or denial letters from other agencies
•    Statements for all bills, including utilities, phone, daycare, dish/cable, internet, etc.
