Glazer Elementary School in Detroit will receive $50,000 in technology after a successful online campaign that drew support from all over the area.
Focus: HOPE spearheaded the online campaign after nominating Glazer for a Samsung Four Seasons of Hope technology grant. The field of nominees was narrowed to 21 in January, leaving Glazer the only Detroit school in the running. Focus: HOPE then kicked off a campaign, urging all colleagues and friends of Glazer to email their families and friends to vote up to five times a day for the school.
The Grand Prize winner of $210,000 in technology will be announced in late March. Glazer’s vote tally resulted in a first place prize of $50,000 in software and hardware.
Focus: HOPE adopted Glazer Elementary School as part of its new HOPE Village Initiative which aims to support the academic achievement of children living in the neighborhood around its campus on Oakman Boulevard.
