Your gift to Focus: HOPE will make a difference!
Laurent Burelle, chairman and CEO of Plastic Omnium, announced today that the company will build on its recent commitment of more than $500,000 to Focus: HOPE by increasing its donation to a total of one million dollars, further supporting the organization’s mission to overcome poverty and injustice through opportunity. The announcement was made at the grand opening of Plastic Omnium’s Inergy Automotive Systems Huron plant in New Boston, Mich.
“We truly support the work Focus: HOPE does to further develop Michigan’s future workforce,” said Burelle. “We believe in the mission of Focus: HOPE, we believe in Michigan and we believe in the highly skilled workforce that we have here.”
Plastic Omnium’s gift supports Focus: HOPE’s food, education and job training, and community programs. Focus: HOPE will be a key charitable partner of Plastic Omnium. The company also plans to identify opportunities to hire employees and recruit interns from Focus: HOPE’s machining, engineering and information technology programs. In addition, the company will support Focus: HOPE’s student scholarships for job training programs and encourage its employees to volunteer with the organization.

Plastic Omnium was also a lead sponsor of Focus: HOPE’s 39th annual Walk on Sunday, Oct. 13. Eleanor’s Walk for Hope benefitted the organization’s Eleanor M. Josaitis Fund, which honors the legacy and work of the organization’s co-founder and supports Focus: HOPE’s job training and education programs, student scholarships and food centers. Plastic Omnium has also committed to help present Eleanor’s Walk again in 2014 and 2015.
