New Training Pathways Program Launched at Focus: HOPE to Boost Manufacturing Advancement Skills

Focus: HOPE has launched a new Workforce Development program focused on starting a career in manufacturing and offering a robust set of skills and certifications to make them marketable for growing industry jobs. Called Industrial Manufacturing Training Pathways, IMTP is ideal for someone who is looking to start a career in Manufacturing, or for the employee that has experience in Manufacturing but looking to advance their skill set to include Automation & Design which focuses on Robotics/Welding.

The combination program includes four weeks of Hi-Lo/Logistics and Work Readiness training, offering credentials in MIOSHA, National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS), and Fork Lift operating. Following the initial class, students will progress to the six-week Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Manufacturing session which delivers foundational curriculum for entry-level manufacturing positions, covering measurement tools, shop math, shop theory, blueprint reading, communications, and introduction to machining & quality. The final session is a five-week Automation & Design course where students will be introduced to robotics, Solid Works and welding.

Students who finish the entire training pathway would be eligible for positions such as Advanced Machine Operator, Industrial Production Worker or Manufacturing Operator making up to $14 per hour.
