ICYMI: What’s happening in Workforce Development & Education
Our Workforce Development & Education program has had an exciting spring and summer!
In case you missed it, Workforce Development & Education opened its new career center in May. The center serves as a resource hub for alumni and current students to obtain career guidance and support, explore job placement opportunities and much more. The program held its second career fair of the year; “Sunshine & Success” in June for alumni and community job seekers to connect with local employers. In addition to all the amazing news, we can’t forget the generous donation to the Workforce Development & Education program on behalf of Congressman Shri Thanedar that will go towards advancing the program.
Our Tree Trim Academy, in partnership with DTE, is back and now enrolling for 2024! The program is open to individuals aged 18 and over, those with a high school diploma/GED, driver’s license, and ability to pass a drug screen. This is a felony friendly opportunity, except for CSC offenses. For more information on our Workforce Development Program and enrollment, click the “Job Training” tab under “Our Programs” on our site.
We are thrilled about what these recent months have brought to our Workforce Development & Education department and look forward to the rest of the year!
